The CRA will no longer be accepting cash as
payment for tax owing:

April 30, 2007 was the deadline for filing your tax return this year as well as the last time Canada Revenue Agency will accept cash payments at their service counters. Next year, taxpayers looking to pay their 2007 tax bill at CRA counters will have the option of cheque or debit payments.

CRA estimates less than half of one per cent of Canadian taxpayers pay by cash so the change will affect a very small number of people. Tax payments can still be made in cash at any major bank.
