Tax Email Scam:

The Federal Government is warning people about a fraudulent email that involves income tax information. If you recently received an email like the one below from the Department of Finance explaining how to obtain your income tax refund by completing an attachment and submitting it, please do not respond.

Canada Revenue Agency only receives electronic tax return information through the E-File system. This email is a scam to gather personal credit details and information on individuals.

If you receive this email, simply delete it. Canadian law-enforcement is already aware of the email scam so you do not need to inform them.
